Update from Bibiana Burrill, Chairperson of Lions 4 Kids’ House
In spite of the down turn in these economic times people are continuing to be supportive of the Lions 4 Kids’ House. 284 children were served in January and February with 17 new children coming through the doors. Donations are still up. Thank you, ALL!
We need some continuous good weather in order to finish the painting of the Handicapped Parking site in the back of the HOUSE. Any qualified help with that would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we were unable to reschedule the Lions Health Van for this school year. The Van has been requested for 2011.
Some important dates to remember:
The first is the Community Summit on March 18, 2010.
Our very own Iona Catonio will be recognized as an UNSUNG HERO. Pre-register at sunnie_curtis@sumner.wednet.edu. It will be great for Iona to have her own cheering section.

One more thing of note, in the future, Bonney Lake Lions Club Sponsors Children with Diabetes for a week of fun at Camp Leo. The children learn they are not the only ones with diabetes and how to listen to their bodies. There is great supervision and medical staff on duty at all times. This year Senior Camp is July 18th-24th (entering grades 6-8) and Junior Camp July 18th-22nd (entering grades 3-5). As this is a privacy issue, the parents must come to us. Registration must be completed by July 11th. Check out the website at www.Campleo.org.
In May you will see the Bonney Lake Lions Club out raising funds for White Cane Days which is our Vision Project. We are able to help children and adults with Vision concerns. One of the people we helped this last year had double cataract surgery allowing her to see again. We will be asking for volunteers to help with this project.
Again, thank you all who volunteer and serve this community with such giving hearts and great love of your neighbor.

WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE UNWANTED EYEGLASSES?
Have glasses, but can’t use them? Please consider donating them to the Lions. A number of places accept glasses on behalf of the Lions; Top Food at Lake Tapps, Wal-Mart Eye care Center, Fred Meyer, Lions 4 Kids House, Windermere of Bonney Lake. These glasses are then cleaned and sorted and turned into LERC (Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center).Tom Watson is the awesome person who takes care of our Vision Care needs within our community. Currently, due to the number of people who are in need, we are having to put it on hold. Our fund-a-need is Vision Care this year, so our club hopes to be able to meet those needs – financially.
LIONS 4 KIDS HOUSE
Not many Children have come through our doors since the Month of December (due to the season). We have had a substantial amount of donations though, and some amazing Volunteers. Our thanks to each of you for your time and dedication to helping those in need.
